Mr Napa
Congratualtions on a fine cut and paste job but i think you fail to comprehend even the basics of Islam thus not putting on a good position to be judgemental on its laws.
The real Islamic law is in the quraan, and not in any book written by any man any time after the quraan was written.
As you rightly pointed out, there are four schools of thought, also note that very few muslims follow any of these schools of thought and most would classify themselves as ‘Muslims’ and nothing else.
It may also be worth noting that these schools of thought date back a very long time, and there is no country in the world that implement any of these thoughts as law.
Islam allows flexibility in the law, and the only laws which are set in stone are those which are in the quraan, and the quraan rarely prescribes any punishment for any sin, these are left to the ruling party of wotever countries to implement how they wish. And like any government, laws are open to debate and changes to suite the state of the times and people.
Now i could pull a law book from England from the 12th century which says witches should be burned alive, or jews need to wear badges to show they are jews. But would it be fair for me to state these laws are christian laws, and jesus wished for jews to wear badges and witches to be burned? It defies logic, but wot is different from that logic to your logic?
And similarly i could find millions of stupid laws from all over the world from evil rulers, but that doesn’t mean that law is what their religion preaches.
Giving examples of how an ancient Islamic ruler might have implemented certain laws doesn’t necessarily mean these are Islamic laws, people study these laws of course with regards to learning history, same as we were taught about nazi hitler etc, but that doesn’t mean the UK curriculum promotes nazi-ism.
When the romans re-wrote the bible they made the offence of owning an original Aramaic bible punishable by death...would it be fair to say this is what jesus taught? is this christian law? if the islamic law of those days was eye for an eye, then the roman laws were a fingernail for your left testicle. your logic is not even common sense.
If i went through every law we’d be here forever, but note that jizya tax for non muslims, and muslims have their own tax, and 9/10 times the amount muslims and non muslims would be paying would be exactly the same.
And if you were to compare the those same laws you’ve pointed out to the laws of other countries at the same time, i think youd find those Islamic laws were still thousands of times more civilised than the European laws of the same age – thus making them more civilised.
Remember Islamic law = quraan. Any other laws outside quraan are open to flexibility. Its not very complicated.
Its also quite funny how you state 'How does SHARIA treat non muslims...', the laws you stated are NOT sharia, their not even quraanic laws so you cant even call them islamic....if people cant see the cunningness and structures of your types of people comments, which are designed blatantly to promote hate, then those people have no hope - and thats who you target.

I hope we will focus on activism rather than just having discussions among ourselves. Right now though we have too few people to have our own demonstrations.

I want to read the entire Koran so that I can reference it in debates. Can anyone recommend a highly respected and commonly-used translation into English?
